Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has criticised Ukraine after reports that it delivered weapons to Georgia before the recent conflict.
Following talks near Moscow with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Putin said that, if confirmed, such deliveries would be a serious crime. Tymoshenko said she was confident that the reports were unfounded. At the same meeting, the two premiers also reached a draft agreement under which Ukraine will pay the market price for Russian gas within three years. Merkel backs Ukraine's NATO bid ... which has long been a bone of contention between the two countries. Disputes over gas prices has led Russia in the past to cut supplies to both Ukraine and Western Europe.
