The German business community has called upon the Berlin government to do more to integrate Russia into Europe.
This came ahead of Thursday's meeting between Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in St. Petersburg. Germany is currently Russia's biggest trading partner with bilateral turnover expected to reach about 43 billion euros this year. Ties between the two countries deteriorated after Russia sent troops into neighbouring Georgia back in August.
