France and India have signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in the development of nuclear energy.
The agreement, signed in Paris by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, covers increased cooperation in energy and research. French media have reported that the agreement could eventually land French firms contracts worth some 20 billion euros, for the construction of nuclear power stations in India.
