Ethiopia's Haile Gebrselassie has broken his own world marathon record in the German capital, Berlin, becoming the first man to run under two hours four minutes.
The 35-year-old Gebrselassie beat the record he set in Berlin 12 months ago by 27 seconds, running the over 42-km marathon in two hours, three minutes and 59 seconds. Irina Mikitenko of Germany won the women's race in an unofficial time of two hours, 19 minutes and nineteen seconds.
