The foreign ministers from six major powers have agreed on the wording of a new resolution on Iran's nuclear programme to present to the United Nations Security Council.

South Africa waters down UN Zimbabwe statement ... no provisions for new sanctions on Iran but simply reaffirmed previous sanctions. The talks came two days after Russia had pulled out of a scheduled ministerial gathering to discuss sanctions. Western nations fear that Iran may be seeking to produce nuclear weapons. Tehran insists that its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes only.
