The Pakistani army says it has found the wreckage of a suspected US spy plane near the Afghan border, but blamed a malfunction not ground fire for the crash.
US officials would not however confirm the loss of any drones, which gather intelligence and fire missiles on Taliban and al-Qaida bases in Pakistan's border belt. The incident comes just two days after Pakistani troops opened fire on two US helicopter gunships that crossed into Pakistani airspace in North Waziristan.
