Protests elsewhere as games open ... four babies have died from drinking milk formula which was contaminated by the toxic chemical, melamine. The chemical was allegedly added to make the milk powder seem richer in protein. The contaminant has also been found in other dairy and milk products in China, and a number of Chinese firms are now being investigated for malpractice.
