A Thai court has begun an extradition hearing for the alleged Russian arms smuggler, Viktor Bout.
The United States is seeking to prosecute Bout on four counts of terrorism charges. The Thai court must decide whether there is enough evidence to extradite the former Russian air force officer. Dubbed "The Merchant of Death", Bout is alleged to have trafficked weapons to some of the world's worst conflict zones throughout the 1990s. He was seized in a sting operation by US and Thai police in March.
