Also on Sunday, Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser won the women's 100 metre event in 10.78 seconds. It was a clean sweep for the Jamaicans, with Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart sharing the silver medal after both finished on 10.98 seconds. Their compatriot, Usain Bolt, won the men's 100-metre on Saturday. Meanwhile, German swimmer Britta Steffen took her second gold, winning the women's 50-meter freestyle, adding to her earlier victory in the 100-meter freestyle.
