Britons feared on missing plane ... to the West Bank for talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Brown is expected to use his visit to stress the need for increased investment in the Palestinian territories. Earlier, Brown made a surprise visit to Baghdad for talks with Iraqi leaders. Following a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Brown said he wants to scale back British troops in Iraq, but would not set what he called an "artificial timetable" for withdrawing the 4,000 soldiers remaining there.
