Bush outlines climate policy principles ... Zimbabwean police have detained opposition presidential candidate Morgan Tsvangirai while he was on his way to address a campaign rally ahead of the country's June 27 run-off election.
The Movement for Democratic Change said in a statement that Tsvangirai was being detained at a police roadblock outside of the town of Kwekwe. This comes just hours after a senior aide to Tsvangirai was arrested after re-entering the country. Tendai Biti, the MDC's secretary-general was detained upon arriving at Harare International Airport on a flight from South Africa. Biti had been wanted by the authorities after announcing that the MDC had won the March 29 presidential and legislative elections before an official announcement. He left the country shortly afterwards.
