Iraqi police say the head of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's tribe has been killed by a bomb planted on his vehicle north of Baghdad.
The blast killed Sheikh Ali al-Neda, who belonged to the minority Sunni Arab sect, as he travelled along a highway near the late Iraqi president's hometown of Awja. Neda had taken possession of Saddam's body for burial after he was executed in December 2006 for crimes against humanity. Local authorities have imposed an indefinite curfew in the town and are searching for suspects.
