Czech press survey ... based on a report submitted to the Czechoslovak Communist Party (KSC) in December 1968. An expert team documented further cases of people who either died after December 17 when the report was submitted or were registered as seriously wounded though they later succumbed to their injuries, Barta, from the Institute for the Studies of Totalitarian Regimes (USTR), said. A special Czechoslovak government commissioner had dealt with crimes committed by the occupational troops, he added. USTR will issue a book on the victims of the Warsaw Pact invasion on August 21, which will be the invasion's 40th anniversary. The troops of five countries of the Eastern Bloc crossed the Czechoslovak borders at night on August 20-21, 1968, without the knowledge of the then Czechoslovak state bodies.
