Talks in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, between the rival Palestinian groups Fatah and Hamas have restored an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
That's according to a joint statement signed by representatives of both sides. Senegalese state media report that this was the first of seven rounds of talks to be chaired by President Abdoulaye Wade.
