Two bomb attacks on civilian buses in Sri Lanka have killed at least 23 civilians and wounded scores of passengers.
In the worst attack, a mine placed on the roadside ripped through a bus just south of Colombo, killing 21, mainly commuters. The rebels in turn have accused government commandos of being behind two recent fatal bombings in Sri-Lanka's rebel controlled north. Hostilities have escalated since early this year when the government pulled out of a truce with the Tigers who want a Tamil homeland.
