Slovenia has apologised to its European neighbours after wrongly informing them that an incident at a nuclear power plant was an exercise.
Slovenia's Environment Minister Janez Podobnik told his EU counterparts in Luxembourg that a human error was made that triggered a continent-wide alert, something that he was sorry for. The error occurred after a coolant leak at the Krsko nuclear power plant on Wednesday. The plant was immediately shut down. Slovenia said the leak posed no threat but that an investigation would be launched.
