In the capital, fighting has killed at least 24 people and injured as many others. Medical sources said the US air force targeted Baghdad's Shi'ite Sadr City, killing 18 people and wounding over 20 others. The air raids are part of a security offensive which the Iraqi government launched on March 25, to clear Sadr City of militants and criminal gangs. The US military says its soldiers killed six suspected insurgents during other operations in Baghdad that began on Friday.
