The Turkish army says more than 150 Kurdish PKK rebels have been killed in northern Iraq in air strikes carried out since Thursday. A statement on the Turkish army website said it destroyed PKK posts in Qandil area in the operation.
It said senior PKK members might have be among those killed. Turkey has stepped up its strikes against PKK targets in northern Iraq in recent weeks in addition to operations within Turkey.
