A year ago, a Czech soldier died in an accident caused by flooding in northern Afghanistan. Czech chief-of-staff Vlastimil Picek ordered to transport the body of the dead soldier and the injured soldiers to the Czech Republic as soon as possible. He, however, added that the date of the transport would depend on their health condition. Apart from the PRT, the Czech military has some 30 soldiers in the Afghan province of Helmand and a contingent of 100 chemists and surgeons at the Kabul airport. Czech parliament on Wednesday approved the deployment of 100 special forces troops in Afghanistan. The unit will join anti-terrorist operations in highly dangerous parts of the country carried out under U.S. command.
