The Maoists have won Nepal's election for a constitutional assembly.
A spokesman for the country's electoral commission said the Maoists would get more than 200 seats in the new assembly, which would make it the biggest party. Officials said that because part of the assembly is to be filled on a proportional representation basis, it would likely take a couple of days to determine the precise number of seats each party would get. The assembly is expected approve a decision made by the interim parliament to abolish the country's 240-year-old monarchy.
