Chelsea gained a big advantage in their tie with Liverpool by drawing 1-1 at Anfield in a first-leg match. Dirk Kuyt put Liverpool in front just before the interval, but his teammate John Arne Riise scored an own goal in added time to give Chelsea the draw. They play the second-leg next week in London. The second semi-final tie begins on Wednesday when Manchester United face Barcelona in Spain.
