Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his Israeli counterpart, Shimon Peres, have led ceremonies to mark the 65th anniversary of the Warsaw uprising.
Kaczynski paid tribute to the ghetto fighters, calling them "heroes" who fought for their honour. Peres noted that most of the Jewish fighters were killed in the battle against the Nazis.
